They most likely just want a letter verifying you GPA not a breakdown of what you have made thus far. The discounts some insurance companies give it based off of the GPA, not just one semester. You can can usually get letter from the school that states your GPA or that you are enrolled full time, etc for proof of insurance for health and car insurance. Check with your school to see who you need to talk with to get that.

give them the most recent grades that were decent.. if your school comes in semesters or trimesters just give the report card from this year that was the best. If you have at least a 3.0 they give you a discount (at least my insurance company does). i guess they figure kids with good grades drive more responsibly.

They want your most recent grades to be sure that you still qualify for the ‘good student discount’ they offer. … So whatever you had at the end of your last semester of school. If you are currently enroled in school you still want the last completed semester of school (as your final grade isn’t yet decided for any classes you’re currently enroled in)

They want your current grades. In general, kids who get good grades tend to be more responsible which includes being more responsible drivers. This translates into lower car insurance rates.
